Our Iron Trainers

Jonathan Warren

Founder

Jonathan, Iron Body’s owner and founder, started working as a personal trainer in college while pursuing his finance degree at Texas Tech. After entering the world of finance briefly after graduating he realized he had already found his true calling and decided to move from Texas to beautiful Southern California to pursue the fitness industry.

Since moving to California Jonathan has had many accomplishments in the industry including: being named Golds Gym trainer of the year in 2014, time as a celebrity trainer in Hollywood with appearances on Dr. Phil and The Doctors, published author both online and in print, multiple time bodybuilding champion and published fitness model. He spent the last 7 years in Newport coast as one of the most sought out trainers in Orange County before opening Iron Body.

“As a trainer my job isn’t to make you sweat profusely and feel like the walking dead at the end of every workout. You could just do jumping jacks for 30 minutes if you want that. My job is to optimize your movement and workload capacity so we can safely apply maximum intensity during our workout. You can’t simply work hard we have to direct that effort where it’s supposed to go in order to achieve our desired results and to prevent compensation and potential injury. Diet, sleep, recovery and lifestyle factors all need to be taken into consideration when planning for long term success.”

Jonathan has clients from all walks of life but has extensive experience in rehab settings and working with post op patients. Additionally his credentials as a FRCms and FRSC mean he is a mobility specialist. This allows him to help both clients severely lacking mobility who may be in pain, and high level athletes who need to maximize injury prevention and performance. Additionally as a champion bodybuilder Jonathan also works with physique athletes preparing for competition.

Andrew Serrano

Head Trainer

Andrew is a Southern California native and has been dedicated to fitness since high school. As a 95lb wrestler wanting to put on more size, Andrew became dedicated to bodybuilding in college that led him to winning the first show he ever trained for in 2008. Staying true to his natural abilities, he transitioned to competing in powerlifting where he completed a 667 squat, 392 bench, and 627 deadlift in competition. He is now challenging himself to become a hybrid athlete – one capable of a 6 minute mile and a 600lb deadlift in the same day. Outside of fitness, Andrew loves taking his Jeep off- roading in the deserts of California, Arizona, and Utah with his two dogs, Pippin and Walter.

“Reaching fitness goals is akin to following a roadmap; the first step in reaching a destination is figuring out where you currently are. Once your starting point has been established, the right tools can then be chosen for the journey. I blend breathwork, resistance training, mobility and cardiovascular training in tandem with a tailored dietary approach to get client results in the fastest yet most sustainable way possible.”

Andrew works with clients from all walks of life and with his diverse knowledge and experience base he is able to cater to everyone from those seeking relief from pain related to musculoskeletal issues to the advanced athlete.
